Park and Ride Lots.
· The Park and Ride lot is currently in use with the FREX commuter service and the Downtown Shuttle. Signage and passenger amenities were completed in December 2004.
· The Black Forest facility is pending an agreement with CSU for the acquisition of property.
· TSD submitted a CMAQ grant application in April 2005 for 80% federal funding of the project cost.
3. Multi-Hub System. With the passage of the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority (PPRTA) in November 2004, the current hub and spoke fixed-route operating system will move to the multi-hub system in August 2005. TSD plans a small amount of service to be added in 2005, with additional RTA funds used for vehicle purchase and necessary capital improvements for the multi-hub. In 2006, additional phased service will be added and capital purchases will continue. TSD anticipates full multi-hub service to begin during mid-year 2007. Additional analysis is underway for the 2005 and 2006 phases.
4. Public Information. TSD issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) in January 2005 for public awareness of the RTA improved services. TSD selected PRACO in March 2005 as the agency to lead the public awareness program. At its meeting on May 11, 2005, the PPRTA Board authorized that PPRTA would provide the 20% match for the grant funding of this effort.
